So I'm in the Army stationed in Korea which is great for getting cheap MIK Fenders and Epiphones. About 6 months ago i bought a GA-45SCE new for $500 without knowing much anything about it besides that it was beautiful, sounded and played great and seemed to be built very well. I have tried to research this guitar online but every other one of the same model that i see is very different. Mine has inlay around the sound hole and the back and sides are flamed natural wood. The top is natural as well. There is binding on the top and back as well as along the neck.. The internet has really been my only research resource since there are no Guitar Centers or SamAsh in Korea.. any help as to an explanation of this guitar would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

here are some pics as well.. sorry I'm new to forums so I'm not really sure the best way to post pics..

Hi Marnott,
Well, there looks to be 2 models, both now discontinued. The specs are pretty similar, but I'll post them below for you.
The first was made in Korea and were built 2001-2004 The other made in China and were built from 2001-2010. I don't see Abalone dot inlays on the MIC one.
All the best,
rob

Thank you so much for doing this research! I'm still a little confused because this doesn't explain the flamed back or the square fret markers.. it also doesn't have Fishman electronics.. anyway, thanks again for your help!!

Hi again Marnott,
Yeh that is a nice back, and sure doesnt look like rosewood to me!
I checked your serial and can't get a trace on it, but as i've posted elsewhere, on instruments that don't hit U.S. soil, serials arent always in our archives.
So, the reality is.....its hard to say exactly whats going on there. It could be anything from a prototype to a model only produced non-US, to something someone put together.
Nonethless, it certainly LOOKS like a nice playing guitar.
....and to me...the playing/sounding is the important part.

All the best,
rob
