My sis got a dg8s value pack a few years back that she doesn't use anymore. If I'm not mistaken you have to drill out a place for a strap to be hooked onto yourself as it only comes with the one on the side where the bridge is. I think they do this because different people like their straps to be in different locations. I could be wrong however, someone else here might know more about the subject. In any case, you could put it by the neck (right above it) like you see on most electric guitars.

Whoa! Stop! Do not drill a hole in you guitar.

There is one strap button on the butt of the guitar, the other end ties on behind the nut. If the strap you have does not have a string attached to one end go to your local music store and see how it is supposed to be.

Sorry about that, I figured it needed another strap hook because the strap that came with the value pack was a regular strap, it doesn't have a string on one end. If it did then it would have been obvious where it went but that wasn't the case. I'm not sure what the deal is with the value pack then.

I use a peice of leather about 1/8 wide wrap it behind the nut tie a knot and slip that into the strap it works great. I would agree with the last poster don,t drill a hole. I just started playing myself practice parctice. Good luck
