What strings did you put on it Rose and how does it sound? I have the exact same guitar and I've been putting Gibson Phosper Bronze strings on it 11-52s and sounds good.

I have a Candy Apple Red Fender Sonoran, (California Series). People love the strat neck on a big dreadnought body. I am having a terrible time trying to upload a picture.

Good lookin guitars everyone.
Just purchased a T-Bucket 400 CE. Great quality for the price, solid maple body. Loving it right now.

I just found this in an antique gallery, its a Fender Avalon. Very nice tone for a folk guitar.

I have a Fender Malibu, that I bought about 3 years ago. Great guitar, and it really sounds good with my bandmates Dreadnought. The odd thing is: mine is sunburst, but with a gold pickguard. All the sunburst ones I see are black. Has anyone ever seen another sunburst with gold guard?

I know the date was real close to 1980..however fender says 1982.i know its Japanese made. But the neck is straight as an arrow and theres no bow on the top.Im having a dressing job done on frets and a new nut and bridge made up...over the years as the nut wore,I kept going with larger guages strings.......now shel be right after the luthier gets done.

Id like input on my guitar,I know it was a semicheap when I bought it,I couldnt afford a martin back then and this one looked like a great deal for the money. That was 30 years ago. Each time I carry it to a music shop I get the "hey,,,why dont you trade in that old guitar...we'll allow you $xxx against a new one"

Now im not a idiot...but offering me more than I paid makes me wonder if theres something about my guitar that I dont know....Do any of you have any input?

I have some input as I also have one very similar...mine is a 1982 F210 (no binding on headstock, yours maybe the up model of mine), it has a solid spruce top, and laminated mahogany sides and back. Nice would perfling down the middle of the back, with tortoise shell type binding around the body and of course a rosewood fret board, bridge, and overlay on the headstock which is inlaid with Fender in Abalone. I got mine as a 1st Wedding Anniveray Present from the Mrs. and after almost 30 years it has developed a very nice tone. In fact a buddy of mine wanted to know how his new Taylor 410 stacked up against it tone wise, boy was he pissed that the Fender sounded better (subjective I know)...much more even, more complex notes...great all around guitar...it is a keeper...and not just because the Mrs bought it for me...

FWIW

I just saw this message, so sorry!!!

I use Ernie Ball Earthwoods .011 I love the warm tone I get from them, especially because I feel that my guitar gives mostly sharp tones!

here is my fender DG8S NAT , i tried it on the floor of the music store, and it was mine. sounds like a 500 dollar guitar, i heard people had problems with a buzz on the low E, not mine though, i give this a 10, this little baby is great. I say, try it before you buy, he wanted to give me a new one in a box unwrapped, told him i wanted the one in my hand, you can't deny the quality.
