Anybody use coated strings on their acoustic? e.g. Elixir Nanoweb/Polyweb or D'Addario EXP

I've never tried them, but some people rave about them - are they worth the cost, or just a gimmick?

I have tried Elixir's and my personal opinion is they are not worth the money.

Same here. I tried the Elixir's on my Strat. I took them off in an hour. Strings are cheap enough so I just change them when they're dead. I tried them om one of my acoustics too. I find most coated strings to be total garbage and a waste of money.
