I have not played for 20+yrs and have just been given a Fender DG-22CE without strings. I used to play a classical and would like to relearn with familiar nylon strings, but can I do this with this guitar?

If anyone has any further advice about this guitar, stringing a stringless guitar, or anything else at all I would be grateful!

Welcome Vic!

You can but the nut slots are going to be too small for at least the first three strings and with the amount of stretching nylon strings do, you'll probably run out of post room on the machine heads due to all the winding from constant retuning you'll be doing.

Like millions have done, are doing and still will be doing in time to come, get yourself an extra light, low tension set of outright acoustic guitar strings (sold at finer musical instrument stores everywhere) and (re)learn with them. You will be glad you did.

Thanks for the tips, I'll take your advice. Just means I have to wait another few days to get to the shop!
