Hello all. Please excuse a newb from asking some basic questions. In return, I promise to make sure my spelling is correct and that my post is readable.

First some history: I have a Squire/Fender china built acoustic (model number escapes me right now--but it was cheap; around $110 in the shop) and I just purchased a Sonoran SCE off the net the other day. I can play some basic chords, tune from the 5th fret, and truly want to become a better player.

Now, the questions:

1. What is "Action"? I've seen it mentioned as light or heavy.
2. And what is the saddle?

Sorry for the lame newb questions. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

First off Mr. Lismo welcome to Fender forums. Secondly there isn't a dumb question if you're a newb to guitar. We all have to learn right?
You have a couple really good beginner models that should hold you a while. Now for the answers. Action is the distance from the strings to the fretboard or fingerboard the farther away it is the heavier so as a newb you will want it a close as possible without buzzing. The saddle is the piece on the bridge that the strings come into direct contact with. The materials vary from one guitar to the next according in price or brand. Don't be afraid to ask anything here cause there are many experienced players that will be glad to help.

Thanks for the welcome and the answers. :)

I got my Sonoran last night and was super stoked to get it out of the box.

It required some cleaning though..and the quality was a little low-endish more than I expected. There are glue marks around the preamp housing on the finish. Any ideas how to get that off?

And is it possible to change the tuning handles?
i.e. from plastic to chrome?
