Bob,
I'm just a beginner at 66 yrs, now retired, and just bought a Acoustic Fender model F-35. It came with a hard case and I paid $80.00. I found the guitar on Craigslist. It was made in 1979 and looks great, sounds great (to my unproffesional ear) but for $80.00 why not. I searched through other Fender sights and I paid the fair price for this guitar. One thing I was told by my brother-in-law, who has played for over 20 years, is to look in the hole of the guitar and under the top where the neck attaches, should be a screw, allen wrench needed. If the screw is there you have a rod that travels the neck to prevent warpage. Thats makes for a decent guitar. Check on the sticker inside the guitar for a serial number and you may be able to find more info about the guitar. If I was in your shoes and the price is right, I'd buy it. Good Luck.
