I just stumbled on the Acoustasonic strat on the Fender website. Looks pretty cool!! Has anyone had any hands-on experiance with it. The music shops around home do not carry them and aren't really interested in ordering one---unless I buy it.

Thanks

They are comfortable to play and sound good through an amp.

I ordered one through MF who could not deliver after a 7 month wait.

I finally gave the order to Sweetwater on 6/08 and received it on 8/09.

I've owned it now for about 6 months and still glad I made the purchase. I ordered the pewter and the fit and finish looks pretty darn good. It has great action and neck feel. It projects well unplugged, but shines with an acoustic amp.

I think Fender discontinued this model - why, I'm not sure. It is made in Mexico and maybe there was some manufacturing problems. Just guessing since they were pretty hard to come by.

If you enjoy playing acoustic or just need an A/E in your collection you probably won't be disappointed. It is very comfortable to play - just like a Strat, only much lighter.
