Hello everyone, i have a question about my acoustic guitar model (DG20CE). I have ask this on different forums and even on luthier forums and no one seems to know the answer so i guess it's really a tough one.

Well here goes, when i bend the 3rd string from the bottom a whole step
up i have to bend the string almost all the way to the top of the fretboard
to the point it is almost off the fretboard. But when i bend the other two bottom strings it don't take a quarter of that to get them to go a whole step up.

now the only things that i could think of is.

1. the 3rd string is a wound string were on an electric it is not.

2. an acoustic fretboard is shorter in length than an electric.

so does anyone have any idea if this is right or not ?

Also does bending strings put to much tension on the bridge that it might make it pull loose from the body of the guitar ?

thx in advance for the reply's

I can't answer your question either but I don't bend strings that much on my acoustic but my Tele is another story.

I've never had to bend that far on my acoustic. Most acoustics and electrics have the same size neck so that isn't the problem. Maybe you could try a different tuning or try shorter bend on a different note. Excesive bending on an acoustic could possibly lead to the bridge snapping loose so be careful not to over do it.
