Hey all.. new to the forums. I just recently bought a beautiful red Fender Sonoran (recently being two days ago.) I'm having two issues with it..

One: I can notice a light buzzing coming from the "A" string on the 1-5 frets. I'm thinking because it was shipped with light guage strings and I tune half a step down, moving to a highter tension string could help solve that issue, but I'm not sure.

Two: It doesn't fit in my case! Since the headstock isn't your traditional acoustic headstock, it won't fit in my hardshell case. Time to go grab a new one.. are there any that you all reccommend? Really need this to happen before Christmas since I'm heading home for the Holidays and don't want anything happening to this thing.

Thanks for reading... here's hoping you all can help!

Welcome to the forums Phlux. Congrats on the new guitar i hope you enjoy it. Maybe look at a 12 string case for it. Have a safe trip home and have a Merry Christmas!!

Oh yeah we like pictures if you want to post some of your new Sonoran. I haven't seen any red ones.

Good idea... haven't thought of that.

I'll get some pics up tonight so you all can see...it's beautiful, and fits right into my hands since it's red and white and I'm an Alabama Crimson Tide fan :D

Thanks for the advice!

It should have .11 - .52 gauge strings on it. That's not too terribly light..

According to Daddario EXPs, those are their light strings. I'm hoping throwing some .13 - .56s on it will fix the issue (I normally play with a Medium-Heavy string anyway.. More volume )

If it doesn't, what should I do?

Ok, now I'm confused. I just learned that this guitar has scalloped bracings. Can I use medium guage strings with scalloped bracings?
