Nice collection. Is that a Bronco Bass? How cool is that?

I never plug my acoustic in either, even though the electronics are pretty good. It sounds too good unplugged, with all of it's bass.

When fender makes a good Acoustic, they don't mess around.

You're right about the acoustics, when they get 'em right they really hit it on the head. That was why after I'd played that first Montara in a Guitar Center store I had to have one, just not at their $500 price tag, not in the works at that time.

And you're close but that is actually a Musicmaster Bass, if I dated it right according to the serial number it's a 78. I totally rebuilt it after a friend gave it to me. His folks found it in the hayloft of the barn on a farm they bought, in an old chipboard case...very sad shape. I got it for free and $250 later that's how it came out.

Love that Montara and Musicmaster, could live without all my other toys except those two. Here's another photo of the Musicmaster alone.

Wow, a Musicmaster Bass, I didn't even know they made those. What a great find, in any condition. It looks like Ace Frehly and Gene Simmons are trying to get thier hands on it.

Actually, that's Peter Criss and Paul Stanley trying to steal it away, LOL.

Yeah, they're a pretty rare beast I guess. I had never heard of such a thing as a short scale bass until I got this one, all battered and beat. It was my first Fender! Took a lot of work to get it back to this condition while trying to keep it as orig as possible.

I started a thread for these under the "All Other Fender Bass" area but no responses. They are actually like a student or economy version of the Mustang Bass.

I own a JG 26 SCE. It's one great guitar for not a lot of money. Unplugged it's very defined and sweet but it absolutely shines plugged in thru my Roland AC 60 acoustic amplifier. It has Fishman on board electronics and a bridge based pickup. Very comfortable, cut away body, first rate build, just a great value. Lou.

I have an Eko 12-string acoustic-electric from 1968 and use D'addario EXL 150 strings. Are there any strings made especially for acoustic-electrics, and do they really make a difference? And are they available for 12-strings?
Rock on.
