Hello all,

I am new to guitar and I am having a problem with my High E String. Whenever I play it alone it causes reverberations in the other strings that continue for about 15 seconds unless I push down on all the strings. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? It is very annoying and makes whatever I play sound terrible. I have a Fender DG-8S acoustic guitar.

Thank You!

Welcome to the world of guitars Pipoca401! ALL guitars create what is called 'harmonic vibrations' that are transmitted through the bridge and body wood of the guitar. This effect is more pronounced in an acoustic guitar and from what youv'e described is normal! With a little practice you will be able to mute the open strings with your hand at the bridge, this is known as palm muting. Hope this helps, and enjoy the 'good vibrations'!

Its easy buddy.sand some portion on your saddle for each string.make some grooves where the strings should sit in.and there.no more problemo 8)
