Hi everyone,

I have this red Fender DG-22CE for about 11 years, and I just love it, but... recently I brought it to a store when shopping for an acoustic amp, just to find out that the Fishman pickup that came with it does not produce a sound anymore...

Common troubleshooting including cleaning the jack connectors, tighten them, etc. gave us no luck. It's still got a very loud humming sound (and only gone when you touch the 1/4" connector jack somehow...), and it's unstable (sometimes produce a sound, and sometimes not...)

I believe the Fishman pickup model is Active Matrix (don't know which specific one, though), and I learned that that type has been discontinued. (Well, it's been 11 years...). So according to the store, they claim it won't be easy to fix, since some cables or circuit might have been shorted.

Is there still a possible cure for this baby? I don't mind installing a new Fishman, but not sure what would be a best replacement considering the size of the current existing pickup drilled in the guitar body, etc.? Have any of you had problems like this? What do you suggest?

Thanks in advance.

PS: I don't have my own pics, but these describe what I have quite well.

The only suggestion that I can give you is to contact Fishman's tech support. I've contacted them in the past and found them very good.

Good luck!

Just a follow up -- a local shop managed to get me a replacement. It's the fender classic 4T. But I think they didn't do a perfect job as there is a tiny gap left from the old pickup space (enough to insert your nail). They drilled a new set of holes, etc. I think this classic 4T is bigger than the old one. Overall, it could have been a better craftsmanship, but I'm quite satisfied.
