I am currently looking for an acoustic in the $1,000 range to bang out some Lightnin' Hopkins on. Any suggestions? I would consider any and all manufacturers, not just Fender. Any help that you could provide would be appreciated.

Hello Connic01,

I'm another fan of the new Guild products,
I like the Guild Gad 30R they're about $750
you might like a the dreadnaught better about the
same price.

Do I Martins, Talors, & Breedloves?
Sure but I think Guild is a better value.

Cheers.

Check out anything with a mahogany top and back. That is the way to go when looking for a good blues acoustic. Martin, Taylor, Takamine, and Gibson all make good models for this. I think Fender has a few models that would be okay for it also.
