A friend of mine gave me a Fender Palomino that has been in his family for many years. I knew it needed work. The body is great, but the neck is shot. It has been reworked several times, has a rosewood fret board, new frets and nut but looking down the treble side of the neck you can see it is not true and the width of the neck curves out where it meets the body of the guitar. I have contacted several dealers, and all have pointed back to Fender to discuss this problem. Should I consider the guitar as salvageable and perhaps have a new neck built? I've looked for a used neck and cannot find one. A standard Strat neck will not work, I've explored that option.
