hi guys, I'm new here at fender community :D

and I hope I'll make friends here

I live in the Philippines and I'm having a bit of trouble about my Fender Sonoran. The bridge is a bit bloating so the action is getting a little trouble.never had any problems with my guitars with similar wood structure(spruce top--yamaha apx500 & epiphone performer ME)

there's much guides on the internet talking about truss rod adjustments albeit i don't wanna risk it.(I guess I'll just file the nut on the bridge)

so,what's your opinion gentlemen?should I start filing the bottom of my bridge nut(or maybe buy a new one then file it down),adjust the truss rod(but I guess there's no problem there cause I dont wanna risk decreasing the relief of my rod on the neck),or stick to dessicants?

I can't really decide. btw, humidity here is very high(60 being the lowest and 75-80 being the average).

whats your stand about this?

thanks guys!

Welcome to the community Astral. I would buy another bridge saddle and file it down for closer action ans save the original for cooler temps and less humidityand leave the neck tenison where it is. Another thing that would greatly help is a humidifier to keep in the room where you keep your guitar to prevent any bowing of the woods by humidity.

thank you for the opinion 6twang :D

I guess that's the best that I should do.I think high humidity makes the tone warmer and more attack to treble and bass.I dunno.maybe its just me

thanks again!

I believe 6twang meant a de-humidifier since you already have enough humidity. That is really high.
Thats what i meant. You sure wouldn't want more humidity. That could make a mess of things.

I've been to the Philipines quite a few times. Seems like the humidity is terrible no matter what time of the year it is. As much as I like keeping my guitars on stands, I think that if I lived there I would keep them in the case with extra silica pouches. I would go with a truss rod adjustment first and if the action was still too high then I would make saddle changes. Might as well upgrade to a better saddle while you are at it and make the changes to it. Don't know what part of the the PI you are in, but saw many guitar shops in Manila. You should be able to get a Tusq or bone blank for just a few bucks there. Then just pack the original away and set the action on the new one where you want it. I like the action on Ovations because I also play electric and the action is similar so tried to get the action as close as I could to it. Came close enough but wouldn't have done that much trimming on the blank if I didn't have the original safely sitting there as a back up in case something went wrong. Plus Tusq and bone sound better so if you are going to take it apart and start filing things down you might as well spend a few bucks for the upgrade. Not going to want to put the old strings back on after all that work anyway so if you have to go to the guitar store for strings you might as well call ahead to see if they have any bone or Tusq saddle blanks.
