I tried doing several google and forum searches on this subject, but came up empty so I'm down to posting...

I just got a baby blue Fender california Special Sonoran (the guy said it was like placid blue but it looks too light to be placid to me) and I don't like the plastic tips on the tuners, but I don't see any bushings to remove, it looks like its been riveted right to the fretboard and secured in the back by top and bottom screws like a keystone, I was about to take and post a picture of it but I really don't want "best suggestions" on what to do here because Im afraid to mess with the headstock since its been painted

has anyone done this?

thanks

Try masking the headstock and then changing them.
