I'm new to the forum and I'm not certain if this subject or pertinent information regarding my question about this Fender model has already been stated.
So is the Kingman Bass SCE available? I'm in the market for an acoustic bass and I saw this model and thought it would be nice to try one out.
I've asked around to several dealers with no one having a clue about it.
Is this a custom order? If so can it be ordered in a particular color?

Thanks

According to the specs posted on the Fender web site, the Kingman Bass wll be introduced 7/2009. In my experience it will be 3 to 5 months after the introduction date before they're actually available. And experience also tells me the first wave will sell out quickly so it may be a couple of more months if you don't get one early.

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of this bass. I've been looking at acoustic basses for months and hadn't found anything I just loved. I ended up ordering an inexpensive Rogue. The day it arrived, Fender posted their announcement of this Kingman and THAT is the instrument I've been waiting for. So I'll play the Rogue until I can get my hands on the Kingman.

Looks like I have to eat a few of my words from my comment above. Sam Ash, and as far as I can tell, only Sam Ash (at least in the USA), has the Kingman Bass SCE in stock. I ordered mine Friday night (7/10/09) and it will arrive on Thursday.

I forgot to mention, Bass Emporium in Austin, TX, has one at the moment. They are a terrific, small shop catering strictly to bass players (obviously) and I recommend considering them too. http://www.bassemporium.com/item.php?sku=0968200021

I just received my Kingman bass, which I ordered online in Germany. Unfortunately the onboard preamp rattles badly / audibly: the pivot that allows you to replace the battery is quite loose, as well as the lock.
Anybody else with this experience? Is there a solution or should I just return the instrument?
I will also need to adjust the action, because in the factory setup it is very high. Once these issues have been resolved, I know that the bass will be OK - the sound is very good, especially once amplified. The initial experience was a bit disappointing, though.
