Dropped my acoustic off yesterday to have a bone nut and tusq saddle put in, action lowered, etc. Can't wait to get it back and hear how it sounds!

Picked up a used Ovation Celeb while I was there. Hadn't played one in awhile and love the Ovation necks so had to get it. Hopefully the shop can match the action on the one I dropped off close to it.

Hey Stagemasterplayer how does the new nut and saddle sound? I've been thinking of changing mine out on the old Takamine. Does it give a brighter sound or just loud and clear?

Definately louder and clearer. Maybe a bit brighter and alot warmer. Fingerpicked first and noticed a big improvement. Same when tried flatpicking. Bar chords were crisper and cleaner too but that might have been the truss rod and action adjustment. It is still a bit higher than an Ovation but easy on the fingers. Thought the bone nut would have made open chords warmer but was surprised when they sounded about the same.

Untill I plugged it in anyway. Then it really seemed to come alive. BIG improvement!

Alot more fun. 30 minutes used to be about all my fingers could stand then I would set it down and pick up the electric. Now I can play it all night. Still not sure if I should have stuck with my original plan of bone saddle but would have had to order it and a tusq saddle blank was in stock.

But it does sound and play alot better. As well as guitars selling for hundres more than I have into it. I'm happy with it.
