I learned to play on an acoustic and the reason I like acoustic is because of it's purity. What are some other reasons so many people love their acoustics so much?

because it's simple (no cables, amps and tones) but sounds sooo good! :)

I know what you mean. I played acoustic over 30 years before switching to electric a few years back. Got another acoustic after about a year of nothing but electric and now that I'm switching back and forth I'm getting better on electric.

You can play your acoustic anywhere.....no power needed.

And maybe more versatile. You can play alot of songs around a campfire on your acoustic, whether the original was on an acoustic or not. But taking an acoustic song to electric is many times not as smooth of a transition.

acoustic takes more skill. anyone can throw in some effects or even just turn it up so loud and noboby would ever hear a mistake. not the case w/ acoustics

I lov emy acoustic for the voice, and feel of it. The sound you get from an acoustic is unbeatable... and when you pick up an acoustic you can just feel the musical power

My son, who lives at home with me, plays acoustic all the time. I, on the other hand, play electric exclusively. He knows my instruments--Am strat, tele, les paul--are available to him any time, but he rarely uses them. Its all about acoustic.
