I have played a little bit of acoustic guitar, but Never as dedicated as I have lately. The difference between electric response and acoustic response is huge. I am learning the solo for PINK FLOYDs WISH YOU WERE HERE. It is much harder to solo with the thicker strings and you don't get help from distortion, loud amplification or thin strings.
I just bought an OVATION CELEBRITY DELUXE and the sound is amazing, it plays smooth and easy.
I have been reading alot on this forum and I understand that with an acoustic the player is required to work harder, well maybe not harder, however different. I am willing to put in the work.
Any advice?

I guess the trick is to keep practicing over and over until it sounds perfect

Without question, there is a huge difference between playing acoustic and electric. As far as I am concerned, finger strength is one of the most important aspects. The acoustic is very unforgiving, as was mentioned previously, practice is the key. I know that sounds to obvious, but the more you play acoustic, your fingers become stronger. I just dont get the finger fatigue I get playing acoustic.

Good Luck

...and the flipside of building finger strength on your acoustic is, of course, the newly found ability to wrap your Strat's strings around the back of the neck...or stepping up a gauge or two.
Heavier strings play louder.

I am getting used to the strings and the guitar can definately handle them. This OVATION is built like a tank.
