I'm really interested in this too, I have the CD-60 and I love it, but I would love to make a few upgrades!

There is some improvement...I am going to keep it...

One can change the saddle...If one is going to like it or not....I do not know...At the end is a very personal thing...

If you are happy the way your acoustic sounds live it alone...
If it is not broken don't fix it...

My acoustic isn't a Fender but I was happy with the change. If I was happy with the action I think I wouild have just changed to a bone nut and left the saddle alone but wanted it lowered so changed both. Sounded alot better when picked and a bit better playing bar chords. Was surprised that it sounded pretty much the same when playing open chords. If that was all I played I might have been disappointed with the results except that lowering the action made it alot easier to play and alot easier on the fingers. When plugged in the open chords sound great - big improvement all around when amped.

Overall, I'd say go for it. Especially if you want the action lowered anyway.

Changing to a tusq saddle could brighten your tone so you might want to hang on to the original just in case it gets too bright.

I was a bit worried about that too. Was wanting a warmer tone - not brighter. Came out fine though. I kept the original nut and saddle just in case. The only thing I didn't like was all the "bone dust" that gathered around the nut and was relieved when it stopped a week or 2 after the change.
