Hello... I must warn that I don't have much experience at all with guitars... just the listening part. I'm looking to buy a gift for Christmas. My boyfriend's Fender F-15 Acoustic is on it's last leg... or should I say string(literally).

What can I buy that will be comparable to the F-15? I know I won't be able to find a F-15 unless a miracle happens and seeing as I'm not as educated as I'd like to be about the acoustic guitar-- Could I get some suggestions/help?

Thanks in advance!!

check out the Classic Design Series, they're all pretty good!

If he really likes the F-15 you might just see about taking it to luthier or good shop and have it repaired. I think they quit making them around 1981 so it's at least 17 years old at this point if I'm correct. Almost certainly worth a bit of love from a luthier.

But backing up wild_rose, I also love my classic design fender acoustic. From what I understand the F-15 was a bit smaller than the cd series though so that could be a factor.

I think this one is a lot like the F-15:

My acoustic is the dreadnought version of this guitar. It sounds really nice, especially for the price ($300-$400 +/-). The cedar top really rings.

Of course, if you are willing to spend more (a lot more), it would be tough to beat this for a smaller bodied guitar:

You might also want to look on craigslist and see if there are any good deals in your area.

Hey belove,

I have a Fender F-15 in my hands now. The guitar is in good condition. No major dings or wear and tear. I just set the action up and it plays and sounds great. I'm not sure if I want to sell it yet. It's a nice guitar to have around.

Also, I saw one on E-Bay that is asking $195.00, but it has a lot of wear and tear on it. Mine's definitely in better condition.
