Problem with my g-string being hard to tune. Had same problem w/ electric and graphite at nut solved. Same thing?

A wound G string is harder to tune than the other wound strings due to the size of the string core. It's smaller than the others, so it can be stretchier.

But do try the graphite on the nut--it should help if the tuning problems are caused by the string getting stuck in the nut slots.
