I recently acquired a Fender Gemini 2 in a will from my grandfather. I don't know anything about them and was wondering if anyone can help me.

The number that reads on the inside is 90219033 and It says serial number: A

Thanks for any information you can share with me!

If you scroll about halfway down this page:

http://www.fender.com/support/acoustics.php

you'll find that they were made between 1984 and 1987. Someone is selling one (link below) he says is "over 20 years old," so that's consistent.

I bought one at the San Diego outdoor swap meet in 1990 and it appeared to be a starter set. The guitar was in a cardboard box along with a polishing cloth, some picks, a tuner and I forget what else. The dealer said he couldn't remember where he picked it up but that he'd had it for a while. He wanted $100 but I only had $90 so he said he'd take that.

Not a bad guitar (I still have it and mostly use it for acoustic slide work) for $90 and no tax!
