i'm looking to replace my current acoustic (some cheap epiphone) with a fender acoustic but i have no idea where to begin.

what would be the 'main' acoustic guitar that fender makes (like the stratocaster of the acoustics - if there is such a thing)?

thanks!!

haha, that's definitely cool. thanks playforlife.

i think i should clarify the 'like the stratocaster of the acoustics - if there is such a thing' line a little bit though...

rather than a stratacoustic i meant like their acoustic guitar that's most renowned. like the stratocaster is their most renowned electric guitar.

Martin D-18.

It's probably the Stratocaster of the acoustics.

yeah, there are many other, better acoustic brands out there than fender.
and the stratacoustic is just a novelty, those things sound terrible.

Haha, I didn't mean a different brand either - I just meant which of Fender's acoustics is the most popular?

I'm not too sure on the higher end models but I have a few friends who own the cheaper ones and they are quite nice acoustics to play for their price tag.

I have a DG20CE and you can't beat it. They stopped making it, but what a sweet sounding guitar plugged in.

The new ESA10CE Ensenada Series is a great sounding guitar.

My old lady plays guitar and she has the Fender Acoustic from the starter pack. A DG-8, I think. Great guitar. I use it to write on constantly. Great sound and plays awesome.

I kinda dig this little number here...if I played acoustic guitar as my main instrument I'd probably look at this one.

I dunno, best thing to do in that area is to just start picking up guitars and playing them until you find "the one". Popularity has nothing to do with it really, it's all about feel.

Kingman SCE. I think best Fender Acoustic. I've had it for about a year and a half now. I've put it though hell and back at gigs and the thing keeps workin. Cool strat headstock too. The only damage was from a case and my 23 year old brother knocked in to it by accident and has a dent on the back of the headstock. Awesome Guitar

oh forgot try Breedlove, hard to find anywhere but here in Oregon but darn those things are awesome. Some are custom made just for you! here's their website. they just started their electric line. You could find some in Canada better than anywhere else but Oregon. When I went to their factory they were making a guitar for a person in Australia. Try to check 'em out

Don't forget, too, that Fender (FMIC) owns a number of other brands, a couple of which of which have very respectable accoustic products. Guild, for example, is a very well respected maker of acoustic guitars.
