I went to the music store today to pick up my Bullet Strat (which I left on Friday for service) and also to change the strings on my CD-60.

I asked if they had Gibsons J-200 and the guy said to me "Please don't mention the name Gibson in this store again"     (btw this music store is the Official Fender Dealer for Greece :) )

So for my acoustic I got the D'addario EZ910 (.011) ( I wanted the EXP-26 ones, but they didn't have them). I've only strummed it for a couple of minutes, I think they will sound good after a couple of hours of playing -- I don't know about you guys, but when I put fresh strings they always sound too "metal" and weird, but I think after a while they settle down!

I see your place has the DG Strat, on the front page of their website WR  Reading this thread, has got me in the mood to get my acoustic out. It's been too long 8) I use Elixir nanoweb medium .013 - .056 on her. Brite wires on both my Gibbys ( 9's on the melody maker, 10's on the Les Paul) and super sexy slinky's on my Tele

I use D'Addario Phospher Bronze on my practice guitar and Elixers on my gig rig. I had a problem popping the G string with the Elixers and went to a medium guage and haven't had any problems since. I don't play that hard and use a nylon light pick so I thought I had a burr around the bridge. I sweat a lot performing (Arizona) so I change strings more often than I probably need to.

My electrics I use Fender Silver Bullets but have been contemplating switching to Elixers.

well after a few weeks of playing with my new strings, I think I'm pretty satisfied with them, I like them more than the ones I had before (GHS .010)

The only thing that kind of bothers me is that I forgot to say to the guys from the music store to re-adjust the truss rod, because I put .011s and I get a minor fret buzz sometimes!

I would get that seen to Rose, it shouldn't be too difficult to adjust :)

I do use D'Addario 10s and I'm happy with them.
A friend suggested trying Ernie Ball 10s as well.

The best strings for any acoustic that i've found is Elixer polyweb 12's or Ernie Ball coated 11's. They are both a bit pricey but they do last alot longer than anything else i've tried.
