Hello

I have a John 5 signature edition acoustic that I am trying to place a value on. I'm having a real hard time finding any mentions of them or current auctions. The closest I have found is a listing on reverb.com that's over 3 years old. Would anyone able able to help me place any sort of estimate of value on it? I believe the model name is simply "J5" and the model number is "095-8801"

Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the reply. I never considered it unique or "rare" until I started doing some research on the model.

It's "rare" in the sense that the production numbers probably were small. A J5 signature model acoustic - I mean, most fans probably chose the J5 electrics. And for others, it was priced above-midprice for Fender acoustics, and the headstock shape was different from anything made before or after - a possible non-fan buyer had a lot of "more Fenderish" options.

So it's not a "collector item" - yet. One can keep it as pristine as possible, and bet on a possible price upswing in the future, but there are no guarantees.

And if you must sell it, ask for the sum you'd really be satisfied with - the comment section of ebay & such will soon tell how close you are.
