I've had a Fender DG7 for about 20 years. It's my beater guitar, always by side to just grab. Recently I bought and put on a Tusq Nut and Saddle. If you have the DIY skills for it then all I can say is do it. It will knock you out.

I'm lucky enough to have a luthier friend and have done that to the 3 acoustics that I've owned. Started with my Fender Montara, than my Hohner and Epiphone got the "treatment."

Yes, the difference is huge.

yep agreed, the nut and saddles are a major failing point of an inexpensive guitar. Replacing them can make a world of difference. It's also a great opportunity to adjust the action for maximum play-ability.

I just went and bought a new, Fender CD-60S All Mahogany at Guitar Center over a week ago and wanted to upgrade it using a Graph tech Tusq Saddle and bridge pins and for some reason, these newer models which are made in Indonesia , won't take to these, meaning they don't fit.
