Played one of these and don't be fooled by the sale price. Of course you
can't compare it to a Martin or a Taylor, but great bang for the buck, IMO.
If you're looking for a VERY decent entry level acoustic/electric :

$139. TODAY ONLY!

You say you "played one"...did you end up getting one, and if so what color did you choose?

I reckon I'd go Black, because I have a Natural acoustic/electric; that Rogue RA-100D in my signature line, that cheap $@! guitar surprised me. Bought it as a beater to take camping and canoeing, but after an EXTENSIVE set-up and thorough quality control run-through, it's not going in a canoe. I stuck an electric pickup, two volume/tone pots, and an input jack on it, and it's an amazing guitar believe it or not---pretty big for a Dreadnaught, but I like it that way.
My other electric/acoustic is Amber Quilt Maple, and I have a Sunburst acoustic too....so, Black would be my choice just for variety alone. My favorite acoustic finish is Natural however.

I don't know where I'm going with this. I guess I'm saying "price" does not necessarily dictate a quality instrument because even a $68 guitar (like that Rogue) can be made to play and sound good---even if they don't come out of the box that way. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/ ... tic-guitar

They must be blowing them out to make room for the new Fender acoustics. Price is the same :

It doesn't really bother me - but the Ovation head does.
