I picked up a 1980-81 Fender F-05 (F05) today. The price seemed OK. ($125 CDN$) ..inline with what a quick google search indicated was reasonable. After email/verbal confirmation, cash in pocket, I drove two hours, unarmed, up to Waterloo. The owner, relinquished the instrument after limited discussion.

The Bridge needs replacement...other wise pretty decent shape.

Bridge was replaced with a Graph Tech TUSQ Compensated Saddle, Martin Style. I didn't know such a thing existed...but I see now that there are many styles...anybody else familiar with these?

I think that's a fairly new product (the compensated saddle). How did it work out?

The saddle seems good. Gives it nice action.

I haven't had much chance to play since obtaining the guitar due to sore index finger on my left hand.

Oh man I hate that. I keep getting little cuts at work that stop me from playing. Good thing I’m moving into a different position that won’t require as much ‘physical’ work soon. I’m a bit of a klutz sometimes.

I’m a huge fan of graph tech products. I have a graphtech nut and saddles installed in my #1 electric and Jazz Bass. I installed the bass but myself which was a little nerve wracking. I would never try it on one of my guitars. Fortunately my Martin acoustic doesn’t need such upgrades. I also have a fender acoustic but probably won’t e touching the nut/saddles on that one.

Anyway, I like the look of your acoustic. 8)

Thanks.

I am looking at an F-25 as well now...smaller body size.
