I have a new CD60S and am just getting a feel for it. I noticed there is a very long sustain on the "E" string. Not sure it's the norm or needs adjustment.

Maybe a little language barrier here, to me sustain is "the period of time during which the sound remains before it becomes silent", and that's usually regarded as a good thing.

But with a little guesswork, I'd just say that your guitar needs the "initial setup for a new guitar".

Usually, perhaps, but there are a couple of exceptions, like Flamenco and some Jazz varieties, where too long sustain becomes an issue, and you play too fast for palm muting to be an option.
On one guitar, I have a wool thread woven back and forth up against the bridge to reduce sustain. If one string rings longer, making an extra loop will tame it more than others. Other approaches include thin rubber tubing around the string, resting on the bridge.
