I voted sort of...
I guess the draw back is the fact that there are so many strings to tune.
12 string acoustics sound great especially when playing & singing by yourself or with lack of other instruments.
Great for strummin and singing along imho.

I love my 12 string.

Lots of fun to play.

They're a little different to play than a 6 string--the neck is usually a bit wider--but I started on a classical--so that was no big deal. What took me more time to get used to was the doubling of the strings--especially fretting--but that didn't take long. They sound great for strumming chords and for single note riffs--Try playing some metal on them--kind of funny in a way.

I have a Simon & Patrick acoustic one.

I'd also like to get a solid body one--I've tried the 12 string Strat--nice guitar, but I have plans for a different guitar as my next purchase.

I think that it depends on what you're playing!
some songs are good with just 6 strings, others need 12! it's up to you!
