Wanted to get any Acoustic players comments on Fender Acoustic guitar amps.

Anybody use an Acoustasonic or Acoustic Pro amp -
Reviews, comments, opinions?

Just my opinion. An Acoustasonic would not be my first choice or even second. I have not tried the Acoustic Pro amps.

Ok, thanks for that opinion. I think the Acoustasonic amps look good.

I also was wondering what an electric guitar sounds like with the Acoustic model selected, or using a Acoustic amp (Fender). Good for light jazz tones?

I'd post this in the Amp forum, but it seems like a DRRI is always mentioned,
or something like that.

Unfortunately I have never had the opportunity to plug into an Acoustasonic amp. But when I was checking out a Fender acoustic, I plugged it into a Fishman amp and IMO it sounded fantastic.

Check out a AES acoustic amp. Made in Germany and priced about the same as a Fender DRRI.

Ok I'll keep the Fishman and AES amps brands in mind. Thanks.

I was not aware that Fender's Acoustasonic amps were less favored.
Perhaps Fender's answer to that is the newer Acoustic Pro/SFX amps.
I'll check the web for some reviews.

I bought a used Acoustasonic JR 150 back in 2005 (I think)... it was one of the first generation of these amps.

It sounds okay, and for what I'm using it for, it's fine. (tucked away in the corner of my living, and to be dragged out if I feel like having some "ambience" when I'm noddling. Gigs,? I'm usually just going to the board from a pre-amp, and through the PA.

however, I am intrigued by the new ones... they are a bit pricey tho.. (~1k...)

When I was shopping for my acoustic amp I tried the Acoustasonic 15 and it was good and I almost bought it, but I was really seduced by a Kustom Sienna 16 which I bought and still use.

The Kustom is actually more like a small PA system, and since I play mostly nylon string guitars it was a better choice for my particular situation.

I bought the new Fender Acoustic Pro 200. I get it this Monday, August 1st. I'll let you know what I think. :)

I was looking at the Acoustasonic 15 at one point, because I just wanted a low watt acoustic amp. Went to Guitar Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa...and they didn't have one on shelf or in back. So I saw an Acoustic G20 (Acoustic brand)...a 20 watt, 10" speaker electric guitar amp in the acoustic amp section. So I tried it out, and the clean channel was absolutely amazing.
I bought the floor model (because these scum bags didn't have a new one in back---place sucked) for next to nothing, and have been loving it with my Fender T-Bucket 300CE ever since.

Just ordered an Acoustic A1000 100 watt / two 8 inch speaker amp today for my Christmas present to myself (from my wife---wink). I chose it over the Acoustasonic 150, only because it has FOUR inputs (instead of two) and TWO outputs (instead of one), It also has Bluetooth, and MP3 capabilities....plus custom effects 'save' and store. And it's the same price.

I realize this is a "Fender" forum....and I'm in no way trying to advertise another brand....but sorry Fender, you fell a little short on this particular comparison. I still enjoy my 7 Fender guitars and 4 Fender amps.

I have an older Acoustasonic JR.. and it does sound ok, esp. if you drop an EQ in front of it, I'm not sure how the new acoustasoncis are, they don't appear to be made to be moved much.. They look more like they intended to live in your den/music room/parlor. They do LOOK nice, but I've never tried one. I'm not sure I'd buy another one tho. There just doesn't seem to be any handles or methods to lug them around.

Anyway a lot can be said for products for this purpose from companies like Fishman, and AER. they just seem to do this right. (If you can afford an AER anyway..)

tempted to upgrade to a Fishman Loudbox Artist or Performer but, with Christmas on the way, aint happening now.

White Dog, let us know how that new Acoustic amp works out.. (After Christmas -- wink wink..)

I tried the Acoustic Pro and the Acoustic SFX late last week and they sound great for me. For my application, I prefer the SFX. I'm planning to buy next week but I'm contemplating further because I find it a little bit pricey.

I considered Marshall AS100D and Hartke AC150 but both are out of stock. I have tried Marshall before but the 50-watt version only but I find it okay. The Hartke, however, I just heard it from YouTube and it seems okay but it's better if I can try it myself.

I hope I can make up my mind tomorrow as I will be needing the amp soon.

I have the acoustic pro 200. Great sounding amp. On par with the AES amp in sound.

Finally, I bought the Acoustic SFX and it sounds good with my Yamaha APX 1000. I'll be trying it out with my friends Taylor guitar and see how it sounds. I guess it's better.
