I have a recently acquired a classical guitar with a Fender label in the sound hole. However there is no model number or serial number on it nor are there any stampings inside the body. The only thing the rectangular white label says is "Fender Musical Instruments - Chula Vista, CA 91911 - Assembled in Mexico of U.S. materials".
I find it odd that it says Chula Vista since I've never seen a reference to a plant or office there. It has a cream binding and seems to be well built.

Pictures would help. Or hold it closer to your computer screen so we can see it better.

If there were an easy way to attach I picture I would have. It is a very generic looking white label with the Fender logo and the text as described. Maybe you can just use your imagination!

My first thought too. The question then being "Why in the hell if they are going to fake a classical guitar would they label it a Fender who has never been known for making them?'. Especially since it has a cedar top and it looks better than anything in the limited Fender classical catalog. My second thought is that is a prototype for a model never built. I own a Alvarez that is a factory sample which was built in Korea but ended up being manufactured in China. It has much better tuners and abalone fret markers that didn't make it to the production model. Anything is possible.

Whatever it is, the time and effort you've put into finding out are most likely not warranted by the value of the guitar. In other words, it is extremely unlikely that you have something with a decent resale value. Does it play and/or sound good? That's really all you need to know.

Thanks but I don't need you to tell me what I need to know. The value of the time and effort I expend exploring a curiosity is not determined by the value of an item or your opinion.

<<If there were an easy way to attach I picture I would have.>>

It's easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Upload your picture to an image hosting site such as http://postimage.org/

2. Copy the link to the image

3. Paste the link in between IMG tags in your forum post

Example: [img]http://s16.postimage.org/8z1i68wy9/DSC00565.jpg[/img]
**BBCode disabled so you can see the syntax**

What's hard is motivating yourself to figure it out. :)

That was my original intent until some condescending know-it-all pissed me off.

With your attitude I doubt you care, but trust me you've burnt that bridge permanently. Sayonara.

Mr. Jarvis, this is an open forum. Literally just about anyone with an Internet connection can join. Sometimes you get people posting factual information in direct response to your post. Sometimes you get people just dropping by to give an opinion.

You can choose to police the responses in the thread you created, but that tends to chase off everyone, not just the "condescending know-it-alls". That is, of course, just my condescending know-it-all opinion, FWIW, YMMV.
