I recently purchased a Squier Vintage Modified 70's Jazz bass.
I am very happy with the bass, so much so, I am now thinking about adding another Squier Jazz bass to my small collection.
Reading many positive reviews of the Squier Classic Vibe 60's Jazz bass has sparked my interest in owning one of theses.
My question goes out to those who have experience with both the Squier VM 70's Jazz bass and the Squier CV 60's Jazz bass.
What is you opinion of one compared to the other regarding playability and sound?
Is there enough of a difference between the two to own both?
If not, what features or performance make one better than the other?
Looking forward to your opinions.

I own a Classic Vibe Jazz bass and a Classic Vibe 50's Precision bass. Both of these are from the first generation of these instruments made in China.

I like the quality of the pickups, Machine heads, finishes and bridges on these basses.

I feel that they are among the best basses that Squire has ever made.

Thank you for your opinion BCbassman, I really appreciate the input from folks that have more experience with the Squier/Fender bass guitars.
In the early 80's I played a 4001 Rick in a wannabe band, and I am now picking up the bass once again after many years of AWOL.
I ignored the Jazz bass so many years ago and with the purchase of VM 70's I am somewhat upset with myself. I am very impressed with the sound and feel of my new bass.
I was looking at adding another bass to the mix.
I wonder if the Classic Vibe 60's Jazz bass is a good option or should I look at a Fender.
I will most likely play the bass for fun, not for money.
What do you think?

If you just want to play for fun and your funds are limited, I think the CV Jazz bass is a great option.

The big question with imported basses like the CV is how will they hold up over time?

From what I have seen of my Classic Vibe jazz bass, I don't have any concerns about it developing any problems due to inferior wood or electronics.

I think that bass will be just as fine as any import bass. It may have some limitations but mostly these CVs are player's basses and I think they will pass the test of time.
