So far so good, slapped on new strings and the bass feels right.

There is a couple issues with her though.
With the finish on the neck and headstock, there are a couple of runs which I didnt notice till I got her home :(
And for some reason or another the intonation on the E string is somewhat flat and the saddle is just about even with the G saddle,

Two options, well, actually three. one, take it back and exchange it, play with the adjustment, three, get it st up by a luthier.

Congrats on your purchase, new bass day is great. I've played a couple and my only critique was, the necks were a little thick.

Good luck!

I ordered the VM 70's with natural finish on-line and was very nervous about what I would receive in the mail.
I was very happy when I opened the shipping box.
Perfect finish on body and neck with a figured wood grain following the curves of the body through the clear finish.
I do not know if this is norm, but I am very satisfied with the fit and finish of the example that I purchased.
Good ones do exist.

The Squier Jazz has been upgraded a bit.
New bridge, pickups and strings.
Fender 9050L Flats, Fender Deluxe high mass bridge, DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups.
It has taken a few months, but I now own, what I believe to be, a bass that plays and sounds as it should.
Missing the Rick 4001 that I sold 30 years ago less and less every day. :D

Nice! :P

Now, we expect some photos from this growler and - if possible - a video or a few sound clips.

That's my experience with the one I bought back in 2010. It was my first Squier, and I must admit, I too was nervous about it when I ordered it online until it was dleivered. Like you I was quite happy with what I got when I opened the box.
