Yeah - the switch calls in another .1mF cap for the tone control when I want to go super deep.

The VM-J is passive, as is the P of course.

I just posted photos of the Squier II Precision on the Mod forum, but since I have two Squier's here goes -

The Squier II has been heavily modded:

The Squire PJ is an Indonesian. The frets have been removed.

Squier P bass E737xxx 32 scale. Non standard Tort pick guard but that's the only thing that has been changed I think. Seems like it's hardly been played and has certainly never been gigged

Awesome bass, best playing one I have it plays like an American imo. My only complaint is the pickups are a bit underpowered, open to suggestions on what might sound good in it.

Here's my Vintage Modified Jazz:

No mods except for more authentic looking black Jazz bass type knobs and Straplocks, and a spare thumb rest I had laying around. Doesn't need anything else. (I may put a P-bass style bridge cover on it) Great bass.

Yes, the pots are stock. The size, I think, is standard 1/4" split-shaft . I Got the knobs here:
http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/guitarknobs_jazz.htm
They're the second from the left, the "Jazz Bass Import Knobs",
part no. JBK-IMP
They fit the Squier, no problems.

It took me the whole summer for this project. It was the black Squier Affinity, bought it used for $150 and transformed it. Has two new Fender vintage noiseless pickups. The sounds is way way better than my other active bass with EMG Hz pickups.

Wow, that swirl is incredible, did you do that yourself?

I found something on the net about how to do that but didn't quite have the nerve to try it.

Pointers please? How did you get the pickguard done so seemlessly with the guitar body swirl?

Ah, I often forget about the two piece pickguard/control plate thing.

That swirl really looks nice.....my white Squier MM could use some detail like that, but my concern is the clear coat. Gotta find someplace to do it right. Had my '78 Musicmaster clear coated at an auto body shop but have since moved, may have to investigate that again.
