Yeah, I've been curious to see what's up. I know you've waited long enough for the damned thing.

Mine arrived in good shape though I don't know how. There was very little packing material to protect it on the voyage from Indonesia to the US. It looks great -- I got the sunburst and tortoiseshell model and I love the '60s/'70s block markers. After tuning it up I got the fret buzz everyone complains about. It certainly could benefit from a professional setup and maybe some flatwound strings. The whammy bar doesn't work as well on bass strings as it does on a standard Strat. Tones are great and I like using the "bass strangler" setting, though, when used with a fuzz it gets pretty trebly.

As a guitarist, it takes some getting used to. When switching from the Bass VI back to a standard 6-string, it took a minute or two for me to adjust to the string gauge and fret spacing. All in all I think I got good value for my money.

Now I'm on a waiting list again. This time it's for the EHX Satisfaction fuzz!

That's good that it wasn't screwed up and seems to be working for you. I guess time will tell how it pans out when more people get these. Perhaps they got their $@!& together and there won't be any other issues. In retrospect, I wish I waited awhile like I did with my Rumble 350 combo to see how it panned out, but I'm happy with the Schecter Ultra VI, so it all worked out in the end. It's actually better suited to me (even though it doesn't look like an original Bass VI model like the Squier) because it doesn't have that whammy bar on it, which would probably wind up being problematic (they have a tendency to screw with the tuning and I never use them, anyway.) I've always been a fixed bridge person when it comes to guitars, because Jimi Hendrix I ain't. :P

I have one guitar with the whammy bar in it, my Fender Cyclone. My eight year old American Standard Strat still has the sticker on the hole. You aren't missing anything. The whammy is hard to use and doesn't make a big difference in the sound. I'd leave it in the case for good . . . if I had a case for it.

I know there was a trick you could with a whammy dealing with the springs on the back of it to really tighten it up, but I don't remember how to do it. I'm mainly a bassist, so the guitar is mostly a side thing for me, so I'm not too keen on all of the little tips and tricks.
