I joined this forum after I got my new ax.

Squier VM Jaguar Special in three tone sunburst.

My first bass was a Fender Bullet, before there were Squiers.

I really wanted the Precision/Jazz combination pickups and don't care for the Precision shape. I've Had a Fender Jazz that was a great bass.

This new Jaguar is fun to play and very versatile tone wise.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the bass. Is that the 34" scale one with the Jazz bucker pickup? Meaning the double-Jazz pickup at the bridge? I've tried several of them but never found one to try with the Jazz-bucker. For the money they slay everything in the price class. A remarkable value. Sort of a no-brainer for a starter/backup or economical beater for outdoor gigs. Really I don't know how they do it for so little cash. It is the best bass going for $200.

Thank you brotherdave. I've been lurking around various sites while making up my mind on a new bass. You have provided some of the best advice on any site.

My bass is Model: 032890 - the standard Jazz bridge pickup, 34" neck. If the humbucker model came in 3 tone sunburst that would be for me.

My main axe for over 20 years is a Carvin LB75. To order a copy of that bass today would be out of my price range. The koa body wings cost more than my Squier.

As a non-gigging senior citizen, carrying a expensive instrument is like painting "Easy Target" on me. So the Squier was purchased as a jamming axe.

After bonding well with my Squier, I would gig with it...my LB75 may be getting jealous.

Sorry, no photo account - so no pictures.

Brotherdave seems to be one of the more knowledgable folks on here.

Congrats on your new bass. I own three basses and the two that go to every gig are my Squier and Fender Musicmasters. Love the Fender more just because I've had it longer and I'm so comfortable with it. But all things considered the Squier version was actually built better.

Fender or Squier on the headstock, if you like it and it does what you need then have fun!

Congrats on your new bass. It's always a happy day to find one that fits. Only problem, you get hooked, on that rush. Then you end up with a signature picture like mine!

Thanks for the comments folks.

No photo account and only two guitar stands so no family portrait.

Guitars: Memphis (brand) ES335 copy, Fender American Standard Stratocaster, Carvin DC127 and Carvin C350S acoustic.

Basses: (No Name) Beatle Bass copy, Washburn AB20 acoustic/electric, Carvin LB75 and Squire VM Jaguar Bass Special.

The Carvin acoustic and Squire bass are the only two I've had less than twenty years.

Thanks linnin. Yep me too. Got a '98 TJ and '67 Jeepster half top. My ax list is mentioned above.

Just don't do any crazy trails in my old age, but I noodle with my basses about daily.
