Seen it, would buy if I still played rhythm guitar. I think it would be perfect for that Malcolm Young sound that requires heavy strings and a dark edgy groove. The in-between

I ordered a sunburst Squier VI from MF with a projected ship date of Oct. 4. :D I checked the website this morning and the white and black are still scheduled for delivery in October. The sunburst was moved out to Dec. 31st !!! Yikes, New Year's Eve !?!?

That can't be right.

LMAO!
I ordered a sunburst on August 1st and still do not have one nor a solid ship date.
If I have to abandon my quest for a new Bass VI I will never buy another new Fender or Squier due to really piss poor business practices.
If I have to wait a year I will save money by buying used.

NOT AMUSED.

Fender currently offers three Bass VI models -- the Squier, the Pawn Shop version and a limited edition in Candy Apple Red with matching headstock made in Japan with street prices of $350, $800 and $1,400 respectively. I've always wanted one, but it's not something I would play everyday so I'm not going to spend the crazy money they are asking for vintage models on ebay. The Squier is most like the original Bass VI and costs the least. Build quality was high until orders started pouring in and production was stepped up. I hope I get a good one.

I received another e-mail from MF just this morning. My new date is Feb. 1st which would be a wait of four months and one day. I'm not going to cancel. With three models in production now, you never know if or when Fender will bring back the Bass VI again. It won't be anytime soon.
