Funny thing about that video. Why have 6 strings if you are only going to play the E-A-D & G?

That is a Fender Japan model and not being imported to North America by FMIC. They import only a fraction of Fender Japan offerings.

A whammy bar on a bass? I had the bridge blocked on my Stratocaster shortly after I got it.

Has anyone played this thing? Seems built more like a baritone than a bass.

This would be a fun addition, but I'm whammy bar shy.

Fender Bass VI's are quite deep and if you play it like a bass - it's a bass! Hofners are short scale and they're plenty deep too. It all depends upon your approach to the instrument. Listen to some Tortoise, a band centered around the Fender Bass VI. Yeah, they're 'out there'. 8)

I was just sayin'. I actually like it. Like the Baritone Jag as well except there are none being made right now.

But here is the Squier Bass VI
http://www.fender.com/basses/other/vintage-modified-bass-vi-rosewood-fingerboard-3-color-sunburst/

Available in Sunbusrt, Oly White, and Black.

In stock condition, tuned E to E one octave down. Strings: NPS, .025 to .095 Tuned E to E (1 Octave Down)

Yeah, they are very cool! 8)

Although not a Squier, the Fender 'Pawn Shop' Bass VI is an intriguing variation.

Yeah, and it is twice the price as well.

I think I'm putting this one on the wish list. I will look good next to the Jags. I will need to get a locking trem for it though.

None of the big online retailers have them in stock.
