So every retailer says it's a different material.

Musicianfriends says it's Soft maple.

Thomann says it's Agathis.

Then I go to the official site and surprise:

http://www.fender.com/basses/precision- ... sion-bass/

In the overview tab says it's Soft maple for both models, white and amber.

Then click on the specs tab and looks like they're of Agathis.

When I look closer, I see that it also says Soft maple, polyester a bit above.

*head explodes*

I searched the forums and some say Amber is made of Soft Maple and White of Agathis but I can't find any other source to check.

I wrote fender to check this description mess

Any ideas?

Soft maple. You can tell by the weight. If you can, pick up some Affinity and you'll see the difference.

By the way, I have one and like it a lot.

Actually, I haven't ordered it yet. How about the Matt Freeman Sig Squier. I'm looking at this now. Is it an upgrade from the VM? Looks promising and the clips at thomann sound great to me. Better than the VM.

I found some threads about it but they date from 2011. Any new insight?

I also could trade my Stingray for an american fender but it wouldn't be necessary if the Matt Freeman is good enough.
