So I've owned a few fenders. Very great guitars and very reliable. I picked up a Squier classic vibe 50's Pbass a year ago to pick up on bass playing. Unfortunately, the neck cracked when it fell from my gig bag and into the floor, headstock first. So ive been looking for some replacement necks.
I was wondering if it is possible to stick a Fender MIM pbass neck in the neck pocket without having to rout or do any modding to the neck pocket?

This neck to be exact: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-Fender-Sta ... 2c685ebe06

I know its kind of odd to use a fender neck on a squier body, but why not?
Thanks!

I would say that it probably wouldn't be a perfect fit because Squiers are made overseas while MIM Fenders are in Mexico and the production methods aren't exactly identical. I would recommend getting a new bass or trying a new Squier neck.

It will probably fit. But I'm not guaranteeing it. I'd part it out and start over with a new one.
