My son just picked up a Fender PrecisionBass Squier series and a Fender Squier Bullet Strat w/ an oldeer Peavey Pacer amp for 150.00 Wonder if these are worth his money. He's a beginner and wants to learn to play both.

As long as nothing is wrong with the 2 guitars, I think it's money well spent. :)

I think so too. And Peavey amps are usually very durable so it should last him a while.

It's admirable that your son wants to learn both the bass and guitar. They are two different "beasts" that can challenge and frustrate on their own, but if he sticks to learning both will give him a more full appreciation of how the different roles of the instruments come together to make good music. 8)

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal on the whole setup. I would definitely recommend spending another couple of dollars the next time you change strings and take the bass in to have it set up properly. Many of the less expensive guitars are made fairly well, but they are never adjusted properly to play well and stay in tune. You won't regret it.
