Hi there! I have just got a Squier JB Modified 70 with defective pots. The seller want to pay for a replacment so he asked me for how many ohms they are. I opened the beast and I found 250Kohm on the pots. That's fine, but when I download from Fender site the spare list for the same bass it states that the pots are 500 kOhms. Anyone has any opinion on the subject? Thanks

If they are 500Ω, they will be somewhat brighter in voice - more 'modern' if you will. Not much - just a tad.

If they are really 250Ω - which I have on my 70s VM-Jazz - they will be a little darker.

Not much of a difference, but I like dark IE: Motown, Jazz and Beatle's era music.
