Deluxe Jazz Bass® V Active (5 String) by Squier® Basses
http://www.fender.com/en-DK/products/search.php/?partno=0300575506
There is a switch - is that an active/passive switch, or to switch between pickups?
Then there are 4 controllers, one of them seems to have some sort of double function - can anyone explain a newbie about this bass.

Thank you

Steen

Hi there. I have this bass.

The switch is called a slap switch, but it basically switches between active (hotter sound) and passive (warmer sound)

The knobs in order from left to right (looking down on your bass) Volume, Blend (Blend between neck and bridge pick ups), The double knob (lower part is bass, upper part is treble), final knob is the mids.

Hope this makes sense. It's my first five string bass and squier. I'm impressed with the quality and sounds. It performs well against my higher end basses.

Thanks mate - makes perfect sense.
Just got the 4-string version, and in spite of the active option, I use the passive most of the time.
My first bass was a Peavey, that actually was pretty cool. Sounded great, and it was easy to play.

My second bass was a ESP that were priced 3 times more than the Peavey, but I never got to be best friends with it.

Then I took a break from playing the bass, but now I just got this Squier (active) Deluxe Jazz Bass. I already love it - I am so happy with it, I can already say it's the best bass I have tried so far.

A few years ago I tried a Yamaha and a standard Fender Jazz Bass (must be pretty simple, since the price tag was around double of what I payed for my Squier), and I wouldn't trade my cheap Squier with any of them.

If anyone ever want to check out if bass might be for them, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Squier!

All the bass'd

Steen
