I know this has been attempted in the past, but I thought it was time once again to request more left-handed bass choices for us southpaws. Fender, if you're listening, would it be possible to offer a short-scaled bass, say a Mustang to those of us who play bass "backwards?" I prefer a smaller scale and would really love a VM Squier with flatwounds running through a vintage amp, and I'll bet other folks would like that too.

All I ask is to be told if any such idea is on the Fender to-do list and how soon we may expect it. I'll continue saving...

Thanks!

I was just reading a fellow lefty's lament on the Precision forum that only the expensive American Standard's are now offered. Gone are the made in Japans. I checked and see that Squire no longer has a lefty Precision. Jazz only. Sales of left-handed Precisions in general must be slow. Good luck in getting a Left-handed Mustang short of spending many large dollars in Fender's Custom Shop.

I just found out I should play left handed - used to have a right handed and didnt like it. Thought it was me!!! So looking for another bass after so many years finding one of any type was hard to do. I suppose I should qualify finding one I could afford was hard. I did manage to pick one up from Ebay but pickings were definitely slim. I know there are not many of us, but to discriminate against any part of a possible sales market is bad business.

I feel you're pain. I write lefty but play righty. I find it odd that Fender offers a Pawnshop Jaguar Bass that is basically a lefty body & neck set up for a righty. Come on Fender that's like mocking all of us lefties.
