http://squierguitars.com/products/searc ... 0326702521 I'm not a bass player but I've been borrowing one of my friends and I've decided that I'm gonna save up for this. But before I decide on it, I want to hear what people's experiences were with it.

Thanks

I have one, leaving it alone as is it's a good bass. Amazing things have come out from Indonesia now a days with Squier's name on the headstock. Mine is a little modded - just BadAss II so far. Pricing out EMG HZ for the summer. It really feels like a Fender. Now that I have it for over 6 months, the body - although weighty like a Fender - doesn't really have that coarse Ash feel like the Natural Ash Fenders - cuz it's not, it's soft maple. For the money - you can buy @ the local music shop for cheaper by haggling - you can't go wrong.

I know what you mean, I don't buy high end stuff anymore, 2 kids kinda do that...It's good for what it is. You are paying $280 or less, so it's not going to be a $500 bass, but if you know what it is, it's never going to be a problem. You can make it to an equivalent of the more expensive bass with just minor mods. I love mine, my 1st Squier, but I got in to it to mod it to my own personal spec. Good luck.

I think this thing is the best seller for Squier right now. Everyone seems to want it and they're not producing it fast enough.

The fretless body is agathis tho not maple. I like that too, I played with it while waiting for the sales rep to get my VM out of the box. Hey like I've said numerous times on these forums, for the price, you can't beat these VM series.

I just bought one of these on Friday. As a leftie, I found it easy to convert. (I'm also not a full-time real bass player. I bought it primarily for the purposes of recording.)

But in comparison to the P-basses? I like this one a lot better. And, now I know WHY bass players are always the luckiest people in the band!

My uncle is a leftie, it's gotta be a pain everytime you want something in a special edition, most of the time they don't make a leftie version of it...he's a guitar player tho, then he tought himself to play rightie so he can buy the guitars he want.

I suppose sometimes it is. As far as this bass goes? I didn't buy it with the intentions of dropping guitar and switching to bass as my primary instrument. It's mostly for recording.

(Also...I've got 7 leftie guitars along with this bass....so at this point? Eh, it's no biggie. I've got enough to get by!)
