Hi, I wonder what pickguard to put on my white Squier Classic Vibe? Tort is too classic, black looks too punk style, white or mint are too light. I need something anyone can notice and it must look classy. Any guesses? It may be a graphic o r something...

I must say, I was thinking about same thing - black pearl. Thanks Cheesehead :P And BTW I love "Pirates of the Caribbean" so Black Pearl p/g on my bass will be amazing coincidence, hahahah.

OK now. Any other ideas what kind of p/g match Olympic White jazz bass?

Last night I was looking for material for p/g and I found one site of p/g makers ant they have something what is called "Baltic Amber". It is like pearl, black pearl or any other pearl p/g but clean brown. But it is little too light. If this could be darker like brown tort and pearl-type it would be perfect, i think...

I suppose all saw this one and I think it is one of the best p/g for jazz bass. I'm talking about brown one with pearl bass clef on it.

If it helps any, here is a photo of my white Squier Musicmaster with a pickguard I ordered from Jeannie Pickguards, http://home.comcast.net/~pickguards/. The turnaround time was pretty quick and it installed perfectly.

BTW, the color is a blue/gray pearl from their list if that helps in your picking a color, I'd say it was more gray than blue but in the right light it reflects more blue. I have since sold the white bass but that pickguard is now on my black musicmaster and it looks AWESOME on that one. I gotta update my photos.

Pictures are great, at least someone put some effort to give a look. Althou it is grey pearl, but i prefer something darker cause body paint is really white

Glad it helped. Like I said, take into account what that color was named and how it actually looked. The guard itself is good quality and perfect fit with a good turnaround time but the samples on their site may be "off" in reality.

I guess yours is GREY PEARL, at least on pics. But it reminds me about BLACK PEARL...

That would have been my guess too, but they called it "grey blue pearl"

They have a good selection so you might find something. I almost bit on an orange pearl for the black bass but sold the white bass instead.

As big a fan of my musicmasters as I am, I just couldn't justify owning 3 of them. I'm not that good. :D

If my bas would be black I go for orange for sure! Hey, I'm thinking now... Imagine... Snow White bass (hahahah Olympic White I mean - whitest of the white) and freakin' ORANGE Pearl pickguard.... AWESOME! This rocks! I try to make a picture in PhotoShop of this bass and i will colorize white pearl pickguard to orange and post it here tomorrow... sorry for the time but i live in Poland, so i'm 6hrs earlier than in NYC. Maybe i try now, if my woman let me sit here instead of taking care of her... hahahah

Does anyone know what is the color difference between White Pearl and PARCHMENT Pearl pickguard? Anyone seen them both together?

I kind of like the orange on white, better on black but ok that way too.

And I believe the difference between parchment and white is...parchment is supposed to have more of a "yellowed" or antigue look, kind of like the white guitars after many years. And the white is just stark, bleached out white. I think that's the case anyway.

I also heard of CREAM WHITE PEARL, and I guess it is third one. Am I right? Even more "yellowish" or aged than parchment one?

My guess would be that the cream is the same color as parchment without the "pearl" part.

Should've waited to for WI KissFan for the Cheesehead remark :P I'm a transplant from NYC...I like the black pearloid for white or tort which I have on my franken bass right now. But have fun looking either way.
